EMMANUELLE RULLAND
visual artist
Emmanuelle RULLAND lives and works in Annecy. Her artistic career oscillates between studio research and the creation of site-specific installations. Although her techniques vary according to the subjects she tackles, her main means of expression remain painting and writing. She explores themes that are particularly close to her heart, such as man's relationship with nature, and humanity's impact on the environment and society. These reflections take shape in her series Back to the wild | No limits limits | Péchés contemporains | L'art de rien |...
Feeling cramped by conventional frames, Emmanuelle soon turned to large formats, gradually abandoning traditional stretchers, as if to better inhabit her work and encourage a lively encounter.
Through her work, she seeks to free herself from artifice and return to a more instinctive gesture, in search of reconciliation with the raw, the essential, the primitive. While the final visual of her work remains important, it is above all the message that lies at the heart of her approach.
His works, stripped of filters, bear witness to this quest for a direct link with the viewer, while reflecting his inner world.
